WEEK 1 PART 1: MY TEMPLATE
The first decision for designing a blog is to pick a theme. I looked for a theme that had some significant areas of space to place images and designs. I will be adding custom graphics designs as I move forward to brand my blog. I chose a simple palette of black, gray, and red to start. I like the dark and light contrast, and red helps the font stand out. I decided to go with a very neutral and minimalistic branding for a class blog since I am not promoting any business with this blog. I put a hint of art for the background area with an image of a watercolor wash since fine art is one of my professions.
My first attempt at making this blog was intimidating and rewarding. The technical part is intimidating. Having something to post for Week One is rewarding. Let's see if I can pull this off and become a Social Media professional.

Susan, I like the dark theme of your blog. It reminds me a lot of how I set up the theme on my phone. I have everything set to night mode. The contrast feels easier on my eyes and helps the text from feeling washed out. I look forward to seeing more from you.
