WEEK 2 PART 2: RESEARCH

This week's assignment is about research. Research is a powerful tool. Today's post shares information I collected through exploring a company's use of social media. My learning objective for this post is to become familiar with social media options and how a company uses them. I chose a company that I would like to work for someday.

Product: Splash-Proof Travel Bags 
Vision: To build an International Ohana, one bag at a time.
Mission: To encourage travel, adventure, healthy and active lifestyles, and to spread Aloha.   

Aloha Collections was founded in 2014 by Rachael Leina'ala, and Heather Aiu. Rachael, a flight attendant/surfer, collaborated with Heather Aiu, a native Hawaiian from Kaua'i, on a bag design. That one bag turned into a successful brand that works with high-profile brands like Free People, The Four Seasons, and Jack Johnson. 

Aloha Collections is a local business located in Cardiff by the Sea, California. The brand is available online and appeals to international customers. Their clientele is mostly women, but they also create many uni-sex patterns for their designs. 

Aloha Collections has three social media platforms on their website; Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Facebook: 17,094 Followers, Last Post: February 22, 2020, Daly postings.
Twitter: 1452 Followers, Last Post: December 30, 2019, Was posting daily but stopped on December 30, 2019.
Instagram: 83, 000 Followers, Last Post: February 22, 2020, Daly postings.

All Aloha Collections' social media sites are well designed and have a precise branding style. Each Aloha Collections' social site delivers the same message even though the templates for Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are different. Aloha Collections' sales must rely on photo imagery of their products to promote sales. This company has outstanding product placement using fashion-forward imagery. 

Aloha Collections is a company I hope to work for because I enjoy the product and admire their branding, marketing, and the look of their social media sites.
